Abel Mendoza Torrontés 2022 is a unique wine made from estate-owned vineyards of an almost extinct variety, the torrontés, revived thanks to winemaker Abel Mendoza, creator of some of the most curious, singular, and sought-after wines from La Rioja. The vines that produce Abel Mendoza Torrontés are located among very old vineyards, cultivated on low-yield clay soils. All these peculiarities result in a creamy, broad, and fresh white wine from Rioja, available to very few due to its exclusivity and low production.
The Abel Mendoza winery began its journey in 1988 in the town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja Alta), thanks to the partnership of Abel Mendoza and his wife Maite Fernández (oenologist). Currently, the winery has 20 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards, located on the left bank of the Ebro River. Abel Mendoza is the owner and viticulturist of the eponymous winery, a wine artisan who meticulously works his vineyards, with the utmost respect for nature, imbuing them with personality and crafting soulful wines, unique wines like this Abel Mendoza Torrontés 2022.

Founded in 1988 by Abel Mendoza and his wife Maite Fernández, this Rioja winery, located on the left bank of the Ebro River and facing the Sierra Cantabria, began by marketing young wines made using the carbonic maceration technique under the Jarrarte brand. Their drive to develop more complex wines led them, a decade later, to focus on different vinifications from both white and red varieties, with the aim of creating wines with their own personality destined to endure over time.
The vineyards of Abel Mendoza are cultivated on rugged terrains with various compositions (clay-limestone, sandy, and stony soils) and are spread across 42 small plots that the winery harvests manually and works on throughout the year with the utmost respect for the environment.
