Winemaking
This 100% Tempranillo is vinified at the winery to shape a red with a clean and expressive profile, designed to highlight fruit and aromatic complexity from the very start. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, where colour and aroma extraction occurs naturally, without artifices. Thereafter, malolactic fermentation develops very slowly, refining the whole with patience. It is precise winemaking. Simple in appearance, but very carefully executed.
Aging
7 Metros 2020 underwent a minimum ageing of 18 months in Spanish oak, specifically in barrels of Quercus pyrenaica sourced from forests in Burgos and León, and then spent 12 months in bottle before being released onto the market.

7 Metros 2020 comes from selected plots in Viñaspre, in Rioja Alavesa, and in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in Rioja Alta, with vines aged between 35 and 45 years that contribute the concentration and maturity required for a red of great precision; on that basis, Bodegas LAN crafts a wine of Tempranillo produced with fermentation in stainless steel, a very slow malolactic fermentation and a minimum ageing of 18 months in Spanish oak, refined afterwards for 12 months in bottle, in a careful process that aims to preserve the fruit expression and add complexity. It is a wine of a classic and polished style, born from a very demanding selection of barrels and designed to express the identity of Rioja Alta with balance and character.
