The sixth harvest of this organic wine signed by the creators of Tinto Pesquera has arrived. 20 Aldeas 2023 is produced at the winery of the Fernández Rivera Family, Condado de Haza, and retains the formula that has defined the success of the estate.
With 200 hectares of vineyard on a single estate, Condado de Haza stands as the largest ‘château’ in Ribera del Duero. An internationally recognised winery, celebrated for its reds in which Tempranillo displays its full potential. Now in its sixth vintage, its organic wine, 20 Aldeas 2023, is a modern and elegant red, deeply connected to the terroir from which it comes. It also bears the seal of organic farming practiced at this Ribera estate.
The vineyards that produce this wine — a total of 164 hectares — extend across a privileged area of the Ribera del Duero in Burgos, between Roa and La Horra. These are old vines, around 30 years of age, planted at 800 m altitude, offering grapes of extraordinary quality. The production process is traditional, and the wine has been aged for 12 months in French oak Fudres of 5000 litres.
Owned by the Fernández Rivera family, Condado de Haza celebrates twenty-five years as one of the most emblematic wineries of Ribera del Duero. The estate stretches across a slope of poor soils with perfect south-facing orientation. Its fruits produce wines that enjoy a well-deserved reputation. 20 Aldeas is the fabulous organic label of the winery.

Description
The grape variety used is Tempranillo, handled with the winery's eco-friendly practices to preserve the expression of the terroir and the fruit purity of the grape.
Viticulture
20 Aldeas 2023 expresses an organic viticulture and rigorous field work.
It comes from vineyards cultivated with respect for the environment, with organic management aimed at preserving the terroir's identity and the purity of the grape. The plots are situated on slopes in Roa and La Horra, at over 750 metres altitude, over poor and heterogeneous soils where calcareous-clay dominates with traces of sands. This balance of altitude, orientation, and soil promotes slow ripening of Tempranillo.
Condado de Haza is the second winery of the Familia Fernández Rivera in Ribera del Duero. Following the success of the parent winery (Tinto Pesquera), this family decided to expand its legacy. They found the ideal location on a hillside with poor soils and perfect orientation along the banks of the Duero River, in the municipality of Roa (Burgos), where the first vines were planted in 1987. On the same estate stands the winery, inspired by French ‘châteaux,’ with a structure designed by carving into a hill. Additionally, it features an underground bottle cellar where the wines rest in perfect conditions.
In 2008, the international prestige of the winery took a significant leap when Condado de Haza Crianza was included by Wine Spectator magazine among the 100 best wines in the world. Today, the winery has 200 hectares of vineyards, all of the tempranillo variety, the signature grape of the Familia Fernández Rivera. Its wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. It produces the brands Condado de Haza Crianza, Condado de Haza Reserva Especial, and Alenza. These are red wines with long aging in oak, earning acclaim from both national and international critics.
