General Information

The Domaine Zind-Humbrecht has been working the Windsbuhl vineyard, located at 350 meters of altitude in the commune of Hunawihr, approximately 15 km from Colmar, since 1987. The vines grow on slopes with limestone soils rich in clay, which contribute interesting mineral notes to the wines.

To enhance the aromaticity of the pinot gris, the grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness, and once in the winery, the wine undergoes slow and prolonged fermentation before resting on its lees until the right moment for bottling. The result is this Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Roche Calcaire 2023, an expressive white with good acidity, an elegant spicy palate, and a very interesting touch of sweetness.

Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Roche Calcaire 2023 is a wine under the AOC Alsace designation that pairs well with all kinds of appetizers, sushi, and fish-based rice dishes.

Tasting notes

Pale yellow color, clean and bright.

On the nose, there is an immediate sensation of ripe white fruits (peach, pear) and citrus aromas, with an almost 'riesling' character.

On the palate, it is refined, elegant, and the dry finish adds to the complexity of the wine. Good length, medium intensity, easy to drink. Its finish is persistent and shows a pleasant acidity that balances the slight sweetness.
