Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Roche Calcaire 2022 is a magnificent white wine made from a selection of young and old vines from Clos Windsbuhl, a vineyard situated on calcareous rock soils with pinot gris vines planted in 1960, 1988, and 1992. General Information
The Domaine Zind-Humbrecht has been working the Windsbuhl vineyard, located at an altitude of 350 meters in the commune of Hunawihr, approximately 15 km from Colmar, since 1987. The vines grow on slopes, on limestone soils rich in clay, which contribute interesting mineral notes to the wines.
With the aim of enhancing the aromaticity of the pinot gris, the grape harvest is carried out at the optimal moment of ripeness, and in the winery, the wine undergoes a slow and prolonged fermentation before resting on its lees until the right moment for bottling. The result is this Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Roche Calcaire 2022, an expressive white with good acidity, an elegant spicy palate, and a very interesting touch of sweetness.

Tasting notes
Pale yellow color, clean and bright.
On the nose, there is an immediate sensation of ripe white fruits (peach, pear) and citrus aromas, with an almost ‘riesling’ character.
On the palate, it is refined, elegant, and the dry finish adds to the wine's complexity. Good length, medium intensity, easy to drink. Its finish is persistent and shows a pleasant acidity that masks the slight sweetness.
