Vinos Pedatón is the project launched by entrepreneur José Francisco Rodríguez to highlight the Cebreros (Ávila) region. His goal is to produce authentic and site-specific wines that reflect their place of origin. To achieve this, he uses old Garnacha vineyards, the emblematic grape of the area, cultivated at high altitudes in the Sierra de Gredos.
The label of his wine features a child crossing through rows of vines. According to José Francisco Rodríguez, it is inspired by his own grandson, who, when crossing pedestrian crossings, always said “pasos de PEDATON” (not peatón), which is also where the name of the winery came from.
