Viñedos y Bodegas Gormaz

Viñedos y Bodegas Gormaz

Viñedos y Bodegas Gormaz (1972) is one of the founding wineries of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. A historic winery uniquely located in the province of Soria, in the easternmost and least represented area of Ribera del Duero. Since 2009, Viñedos y Bodegas Gormaz has been part of Hispanobodegas, a group with wineries in Rioja and Rueda. In this new phase, Gormaz has made significant improvements to its facilities and vineyards.

Bodegas Gormaz manages 232 hectares of vineyards spread across more than 1,000 small plots with a great diversity of soils. The common feature of all these plots is the age of the pre-phylloxera vineyard, with vines over 110 years old. Additionally, the vineyard's location in a colder and higher area (between 845 and 960 meters above sea level) gives it a more pronounced continental climate compared to other areas of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. In short, Gormaz boasts an exceptional vineyard characterized by its age and complexity, with a great variety of terroirs, soils, and microclimates.

The winery produces the 12 Linajes range in all its styles (roble, crianza, and reserva, along with two special wines: 12 Linajes Finca los Arenales and 12 Linajes grano a grano) as well as a selected harvest wine called Anier and Viña Gormaz (joven, roble, and crianza).
