Remírez de Ganuza

Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, born in Navarra and adopted by Álava, produces some of the finest wines in this country. Names like Trasnocho, Erre Punto, or María Remírez de Ganuza evoke equal parts quality and elegance. Recently, he achieved a milestone that most winemakers can only dream of: earning 100 Parker points with one of his wines, specifically with the 2004 vintage of his Reserva.

The facilities of Remírez de Ganuza ––a marvel of functionality and avant-garde architecture– are located in Samaniego, in the very heart of Rioja Alavesa. His vineyards, where Fernando cultivates tempranillo ––primarily– and graciano, are spread across this town, Leza, Elciego, and Laguardia. In total, 53 hectares of vineyards, most of them over 60 years old, with low but excellent yields. Today, Remírez de Ganuza is one of the most prestigious wineries from Rioja beyond our borders.
