Regalía de Ollauri

Located on a hill at the highest part of the village, with views of the Ebro Valley and the Sierra de Cantabria, the Sierra de La Demanda, and Ollauri and its vineyards, the winery blends perfectly into the landscape, following the traditional construction style of the Barrio de las Bodegas, which dominates the upper part of Ollauri. This is a mound where the slopes have traditionally been used to carve out its characteristic cellars. The architecture has been designed for a winery equipped with the most cutting-edge winemaking system in La Rioja and one of the most advanced in the world. Thus, 80% of its surface is buried in the hill to make the most of gravity for the reception and transport of the grapes. Since its creation in 2004, the commitment to the land has been a constant, with the awareness that the highest quality they seek for their wines can only be achieved through R&D&I. In this way, the winery features a pioneering winemaking system in Spain, which in 2007 won the Innovation Award from the Government of La Rioja, recognizing it as one of the most avant-garde wineries in the designation. Regalía participates in various research projects, always aimed at achieving the highest possible quality of its wines while safeguarding and protecting the winery's most precious asset: the land. This is how the geothermal project was born: energy from the earth becomes a source of renewable and clean energy, taking on a challenge that will change the winemaking system to make it the most environmentally respectful in the world.
