The origin of the winery Perinet dates back to 1998, when the singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat started this project together with two partners. With the turn of the century, it changed ownership, and since 2003, Joan Piñol Piñol has been at the helm of the company. Perinet defines itself as a "modern winery in a very traditional region" and offers a significant enotourism experience.
Perinet's wines beautifully reflect the ‘terroir’ of Priorat, its climate, and its slate soils. The winemaking process utilizes three plots with different microclimates, resulting in three wine profiles: Finca Mas Vell, warm and ripe; Finca Mas d'en Xesc, fresh and long; and Finca Planetes, located in the Porrera area, producing spicy and Mediterranean-style wines. All the vineyards grow on slopes and terraces with varying exposures and orientations.
