Marqués de Terán

Marqués de Terán is a centenary brand that was revitalized with the construction of the winery in 2005 in the town of Ollauri, in the heart of Rioja Alta. The facilities are buried inside a small hill, allowing gravity-based operation and naturally maintaining the temperature and humidity conditions of the winery.

Sustainability is one of the hallmarks of the winery; in fact, it is the first winery in Europe to incorporate geothermal energy as a power source. Regarding the wine production, it is carried out in an artisanal way, with manual harvesting and several selection stages, which, combined with the latest technologies, result in excellent wines that are highly representative of the region.

The winery is considered one of the architectural gems of Rioja due to its integration into the landscape and its functional architecture. Thanks to its architecture and the use of geothermal energy, as well as the manual harvesting processes, Marqués de Terán manages to minimize its carbon footprint through a highly eco-efficient production process that reduces environmental impact and CO2 emissions.
