Maison Régnard

Maison Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious historic houses in Chablis, Burgundy. Founded in 1860 by Zéphyr Régnard, the winery is located in the heart of the historic centre of Chablis and is one of the few maisons that still preserve their original cellars and buildings in the village centre, testimony to its noble winemaking tradition.

In 1984, Maison Régnard was acquired by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, a leading figure in French viticulture and owner of some of the Loire Valley’s most prestigious vineyards. Since then, the Ladoucette family has preserved and enhanced the house’s classic style, combining respect for the terroir with careful technical modernisation.

Maison Régnard owns vineyards in all seven Chablis Grand Cru appellations (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Les Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), as well as in the main Premier Crus and selected plots of Chablis and Petit Chablis. Total production covers around 120 hectares, combining estate vineyards with grapes sourced from long-associated growers.

The Chablis terroir, characterised by Kimmeridgian soils rich in limestone and marine fossils, gives Régnard wines marked minerality, tension and longevity, with Chardonnay as the only grape variety grown in the appellation.

Maison Régnard champions a pure and precise Chablis style, where finesse and freshness prevail over the use of oak. Vinification is carried out mainly in stainless steel tanks with temperature control, seeking to preserve the vineyard’s natural expression. Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines are bottle-aged for long periods to achieve maximum complexity.

The house produces a full range of appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, Chablis Grand Cru and the emblematic Grand Régnard cuvée, created in 1992 as a selection from the maison’s finest plots. The wines stand out for their elegance, mineral profile, citrus notes and structural precision.
