Maison Louis Jadot

Maison Louis Jadot is one of the most emblematic historic houses in Burgundy and an undisputed benchmark of French wine worldwide. Its origins date back to 1826, when the Jadot family acquired the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules vineyard, the starting point of a long winemaking history closely linked to Burgundy’s great terroirs. In 1859, Louis-Henry Denis Jadot formally founded the Maison in Beaune, laying the foundations for a model combining vineyard ownership with significant négociant activity.

From the late 19th century and throughout the 20th century, successive generations gradually expanded the Maison’s vineyard holdings through the acquisition of key plots such as Corton-Pougets, Corton-Charlemagne and Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles. At the same time, Louis Jadot became a pioneer in the international promotion of Burgundy wines, especially in Northern Europe, the United States and the United Kingdom. In 1985, in order to ensure the continuity of the project, the company passed into the hands of the Kopf family, the historic importer of the house’s wines in the United States, while preserving the Maison’s family character and independence.

Today, Maison Louis Jadot owns and manages more than 150 hectares of estate vineyards across the Côte d’Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais, in addition to emblematic estates such as Château des Jacques (Moulin-à-Vent), Domaine Gagey and Domaine Ferret in Pouilly-Fuissé. All wines are produced under a single visual identity, marked by the iconic head of Bacchus, symbolising the Maison’s commitment to quality and expression of origin.

The philosophy of Louis Jadot is based on respectful viticulture and precise, low-intervention winemaking aimed at faithfully reflecting the diversity of Burgundy’s climats. Its range spans from regional and village wines to one of the most extensive collections of Premiers and Grands Crus in Burgundy, produced mainly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and renowned for their elegance, balance and outstanding ageing potential.
