The renowned winemaker from Chablis (France), Michel Laroche, owner of various winemaking projects in France, fell in love with the winemaking potential offered by Chile's Casablanca Valley and in 2001 started a new venture there with the planting of 53 hectares of vineyards. Later, in 2006, he acquired an estate of 23 hectares planted with sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and pinot noir, where the winery is also located.
