Bodegas Hermanos Díaz Ocaña

After several generations dedicated to winemaking, the Díaz Ocaña family has turned their winery Hermanos Díaz Ocaña (formerly known as Jesús Díaz) into one of the most prestigious in the Community of Madrid. The "official" foundation dates back to 1949, when Jesús Díaz took over the old winery that Florentino Mingo Garcés, his wife's grandfather, owned in Colmenar de Oreja.

In the new facilities, Jesús began producing wine with the aim of selling it in bulk to various taverns in the capital and the north of Spain. By the late nineties, the company was legally established as a family business. Today, without turning its back on new technologies, the fifth generation of the family –led by Antonio Díaz Ocaña– has embraced a traditional winemaking approach, aging the wines in the ancient caves of a 15th-century Franciscan convent on which the winery is built.
