Finca Torremilanos

Finca Torremilanos
Finca Torremilanos is part of the exclusive circle of founding wineries of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin in 1982. A family-owned winery that exudes personality and was a pioneer in committing to organic and biodynamic wines. It is also one of the few wineries in Ribera del Duero that can boast having all its vineyards within a single estate: the Finca Torremilanos. A true 'château' located in the heart of the D.O., in Aranda de Duero, where the winery is surrounded by its own vineyards: 195 hectares providing exceptional grapes. The vines (mainly tempranillo, but also cabernet sauvignon and merlot) are spread across a hillside at an altitude of 800-900 meters, with significant thermal variations, extreme conditions that enhance the personality of the wines.

Finca Torremilanos was founded in 1903 by Calixto Seijas Ruiz Zorrilla with the aim of producing fine wines, and in 1975 the property passed into the hands of Pablo Peñalba and his siblings, a family with a long-standing tradition tied to vineyards and wine. Pilar Pérez Albéniz, wife of the late Pablo Peñalba, currently manages the winery, while Ricardo Peñalba (second generation) leads the winemaking efforts. Since 2003, the Peñalba López family stopped purchasing grapes from other producers in the area to focus on the estate's own grapes, which led them to adopt healthier and more traditional viticulture practices, eliminating the use of herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers. Since 2008, 100% of the estate's vineyard has been certified for organic production, and since 2015, for biodynamic production. The winery's philosophy is to craft wines that convey the unique flavors of this landscape—honest, fresh, natural, and genuine wines.
