Dominio de Anza

The winery Dominio de Anza revolves around one name: Diego Magaña, born into a family of winemakers in the Navarra region.

His father enrolled him in the Escuela de Viña y Vino in Madrid. At that moment, he went from rejecting the world of wine to falling hopelessly in love with it. After completing his studies, he furthered his training in various parts of the world, such as Château Fayau Cadillac in Bordeaux, the O. Fournier winery in Argentina, and the Chilean winery Viña Errazuriz, among others.

Once he acquired sufficient knowledge, he returned to Spain and left the family winery to settle in the Leonese region of El Bierzo, where he began crafting personal wines under the watchful eye of the great Raúl Pérez. Thus, he founded the winery Dominio de Anza, in honor of his mother Esperanza.

The winery is located in Villafranca del Bierzo, where Magaña has managed to acquire old vineyards between 80 and 100 years old, very challenging but yielding extraordinary wines that are praised by both critics and the public.

Recently, he has also acquired land in La Rioja Alavesa, in the towns of Elvillar and Laguardia.
