Pioneer among Australian wineries, d'Arenberg was founded in 1912 after Joseph Osborn purchased 25 hectares of vineyards in what is now known as McLaren Vale. Today, it is one of the most recognized wineries in the Oceanic country, receiving a decade ago the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours for its contributions to the wine industry.
