Concejo Bodegas is located in the heart of the Duero Valley, specifically in Valoria La Buena (Valladolid), a town with a long winemaking tradition (the Catholic Monarchs toasted at their wedding with a wine from the area). Concejo Bodegas is a small family winery whose history dates back to 1906, when the Concejo family acquired their first vineyards.
In the 1980s, Antonio Concejo restructured the vineyards, creating the current estate with approximately 30 hectares. Later, in the 1990s, Enrique Concejo and Olga were the driving forces behind the current project. It is the only winery in the D.O. Cigales located on the right bank of the Pisuerga River, serving as a mandatory stop between Cigales and Ribera del Duero. Its vineyards are planted on a unique soil, the most calcareous in the Duero Valley, producing wines of quality and character. The winery is also an enotourism center, featuring a charming rural hotel set in a former mansion and a restaurant offering traditional cuisine with modern touches.
