Located in the area of the High Calchaquí Valleys in the region of Salta, at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, Bodega Colomé has stood since 1831 as the oldest winery in Argentina. Founded by the Spanish governor of Salta, Nicolás Severo de Isasmendi y Echalar, the winery is currently managed by Donald Hess, owner of Hess Family Estates, a Swiss family-owned company with wineries in the United States, South Africa, and Argentina.
