In 2006, brothers Toni (Coca) and Miguel (Fitó), sons of farmers from Alt Penedès who used to sell the grapes from their vineyard to external producers, decided to take advantage of their own resources and embarked on the adventure of winemaking to create unique, different, and daring wines. This is how Coca i Fitó was born, with Toni Coca in charge of technical management — a role he had already dedicated part of his professional life to in other wineries in Catalonia — and Miguel Coca leading the commercial prospecting of the winery. Their Coca i Fitó wines, which debuted in 2006, were joined in 2007 by the Jaspi range, made from grapes purchased from local growers and produced under the oenological guidance of Toni Coca, aiming to convey new sensations with affordable prices and an excellent quality-to-price ratio. In 2010, the new Jaspi Maragda was launched, a red wine that further emphasizes the distinctive character of the brand. The vineyard, cultivated organically and with vines aged between 15 and 80 years, is located in the Falset valley (in municipalities such as Marçà, El Masroig, Falset, Capçanes, Guiamets, and La Serra d'Almos), in an area with poor organic composition and a dry climate, which contributes minerality and concentration to the wines. Each plot and variety is vinified independently and traditionally, seeking to preserve the idiosyncrasy and uniqueness of each terroir. The wines are aged in 225-liter barrels, mostly French oak with medium toasting from various coopers, aiming to enhance the complexity and nuances of the wines.
