Clos de los Siete

In 1988, the prestigious enólogo Michel Rolland arrived in Argentina, attracted by its great winemaking potential. He soon began searching for vineyards and partners to embark on a new project there and found both. Partnering with the Bordeaux viticultor Jean Michel Arcaute, he discovered an 850-hectare site with soils composed of pebbles, clay, and sand, located at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, 100 km south of the city of Mendoza, practically at the foot of the Andes. This is the origin of Clos de los Siete, a company that brought together some more friends, also viticultores and investors, and under Rolland's guidance, began producing a unique wine.

Today, the firm encompasses four wineries. Part of their production is dedicated to crafting the great joint wine Clos de los Siete, while the rest is used for their own ranges, namely Monteviejo, Cuvelier los Andes, DiamAndes, and Bodega Rolland. The blend of the flagship red wine is dominated by malbec, Argentina's most emblematic variety, complemented by cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, petit verdot, and cabernet franc. Each variety contributes its typicity and personality, enhanced by the vineyard's altitude and the thermal amplitude between day and night to which it is subjected, allowing for the development of high-quality tannins.
