Chateau St. Michelle is the most important and oldest winery in Washington State, the second largest premium wine-producing region in the United States, after Napa Valley in California. Although the construction of the property dates back to the 1930s, the winery, as we know it today, released its first vintage to the market in 1967.
Chateau St. Michelle owns some of the oldest vineyards in Columbia Valley, one of the finest wine-growing regions in Washington State. Under the winemaking direction of Bob Bertheau, the winery showcases a style that blends Old World tradition with the latest innovations in crafting exceptional red and white wines. It has garnered numerous awards, including the designation of ‘American Winery of the Year 2004’ by the prestigious magazine Wine Enthusiast and ‘Brand of the Year’ by the publication Wine & Spirits in 2002, 2005, and 2004. Today, Chateau Ste. Michelle’s wines are available in more than 100 countries.
