Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker

Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker is a winery located in Margaux, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Classified as a third Grand Cru Classé in the Official Bordeaux Wine Classification of 1855, it boasts one of the oldest vineyards in the region, planted in 1585.

The first owner of the estate was the Marquis d’Alesme. In 1810, his descendants sold it to the Dutch wine merchant Jean Bekker Teerlink, who Germanized his name and combined it with that of the property, resulting in the name Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker, which has endured to this day. Since 2006, the winery has been owned by the Perrodo family, who also own the neighboring Château Labégorce.

Under the direction of Nathalie Perrodo-Samani, the estate has undergone a complete restructuring in all areas, from the vineyard to the winery facilities. This renewal has restored Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker to its former glory, placing its wines among the best in the Médoc.

From the combination of a magnificent 15-hectare vineyard, located in the heart of the A.O.C. Margaux, planted with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, and cabernet franc vines averaging 40 years old and cultivated according to organic and biodynamic farming principles, and a terroir of clay, limestone, and gravel soils exposed to a mild climate, Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker produces red wines of great aromatic richness and intensity, power, and elegance.
