The French town of Pujols, in Entre-Deux-Mers, sits atop a hill overlooking the Dordogne River valley, in the southeast of France. A beautiful setting where Château Lafont Fourcat is located, a small estate restored in 1993 by Paul Marie Morillon, advisor to other renowned wineries such as Ausone, Valandraud, Yquem, and La Mondotte, producing some of the wines with the best value for money in the A.O.C. Bordeaux.
Paul Marie Morillon tends to his property as if it were a garden. The 9 hectares of vineyard he owns, 7 planted with red varieties and 2 with white, with an average age of 30 years, stretch across terraces of clay-limestone and silty soils. The high quality of the grapes and this fabulous terroir result in concentrated, aromatic, and fruity wines. Highly appreciated creations distributed by Jean-Luc Thunevin, owner of Château Valandraud and a key figure in the garage wine movement in Bordeaux, which began in the 1990s.
