Carvajal Wines is a family project led by Jaime de Carvajal, who serves as the captain of the ship, joined by his two sons. Jaime de Carvajal's career is closely tied to the lands of Cádiz, where he began his journey in the International Division of a Jerez winery. After 25 years, he went on to manage a winery from the same group under the geographical indication Vino de la Tierra de Cádiz, where he already produced red wines that incorporated contributions from the local Tintilla de Rota grape. In 2013, Jaime de Carvajal founded his own company dedicated to exporting to Mexico, and almost simultaneously, he started his first project as the creator of his own wine: Cobijado, also protected under the geographical indication Vino de la Tierra de Cádiz.
In the following years, Jaime de Carvajal embarked on the search for new ‘terroirs’ to apply his oenological concept, expanding his portfolio with a rosé from Somontano: Son de Rosa; and an unfiltered Oloroso from Jerez: Carvajal; as well as producing an artisanal gin: Lobb. He is currently working to bring more Jerez wines to light, along with different vermouths and other wines from various regions across the national geography. Obsessed with quality, he strives for excellence in each of his projects, while always aiming to create original wines with their own unique personality: “I don’t believe in imitations,” he states.
