Founded in 1870 by Santiago Graffigna, who led the expansion of the Argentine railway, Graffigna is the oldest winery in San Juan and the second oldest in Argentina. A company dedicated to the production of quality wines, it ceased to be family-owned in 1980 and was incorporated into the portfolio of the prominent international group Pernod Ricard in 2005. Its quality was recently endorsed by the renowned American publication The Critics Challenge, which five years ago named it as "Winery of the Year."
