The winery was founded in 1992 in Peñafiel (Valladolid), just 15 km away from Vega Sicilia. The name of the Alión winery corresponds to the Leonese municipality where the patriarch of the family, David Álvarez, was born. The wines of the brand are adapted to the international taste of the end of the millennium, marked by the unique character of the land where they originate while also nodding to more modern preferences. Alión is a groundbreaking and independent type of wine. For its production, the winery relies on a carefully selected range of terroirs distributed across the best areas of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The diversity of soils, complementary to each other, along with the same viticulture practiced at the parent house, result in wines with a solid structure.
