Vega Saúco is a family winery established in 1986, although the family had been dedicated to viticulture and winemaking for more than 35 years. In 1991, Wencesleo Gil began marketing his bottled red wines, made from the Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) variety. From that moment, the winery experienced growth in commercialization and began to take shape as one of the leading wineries in Toro today. In 1997, a modern winery equipped with the best winemaking systems was inaugurated.
Here, they primarily produce Crianza and Reserva wines. The new winery was complemented with further expansions and a new aging room housing 1,000 new barrels. The winery is equipped with modern winemaking systems: tanks with independent temperature control, automatic pump-overs, self-emptying systems, etc. Vega Saúco wines are of proven quality. They are recognized by critics, as reflected in the prestigious awards and mentions received both nationally and internationally.
