The Escudero family bears one of the most illustrious surnames in Rioja wine, with a winemaking tradition that began in 1852. With the drive of Amador Escudero (fourth generation), the family has sought new places to apply their philosophy, founding their second Rioja winery: Valsacro.
Valsacro has been accompanied by fame since its early days, a prestige that is even greater in international markets, especially in the United States. The meticulous work in viticulture has been key to Valsacro's success.
The facilities and vineyards are located on a single estate, La Plana, in the style of Bordeaux 'châteaux,' situated in Pradejón (Rioja Baja). Additionally, Valsacro owns an estate on Monte Yerga, where some of the most coveted vineyards in La Rioja grow, owned by a fortunate handful of wineries.
