Pioneer among the wineries producing albariño in the D.O. Rías Baixas, Terras Gauda is a benchmark when analyzing the magnificent evolution of Spanish white wines over the past years. Founded in 1989 in O Rosal, it launched its first vintage of the white Terras Gauda in 1990, a blend of the native varieties albariño, caíño blanco, and loureiro, which it cultivates in its more than 160 hectares of its own vineyards, a great viticultural heritage in an area dominated by smallholdings.

Terras Gauda is a pioneering winery in R&D&I. The first project it undertook was the clonal selection of albariño grapes in 2002. The results allowed for an in-depth understanding of this variety and set the path forward by cooperating with the CISC, with which it also patented an exclusive ecotypic yeast, extracted from its own vineyard, enhancing the varietal character and fruity aromas. Among its achievements is also the recovery of a variety that had almost disappeared: caíño blanco. Today, 85% of the caíño blanco in the entire D.O. Rías Baixas is cultivated in Terras Gauda's vineyard. Another characteristic of the winery is its commitment to environmental sustainability and the conservation of its surroundings.

With a presence in more than 60 international markets, its flagship label is Terras Gauda. It also produces the single-varietal albariño Abadía de San Campio, Terras Gauda Etiqueta Negra, and La Mar, with caíño blanco.
