Bodegas Rubicón

Located in La Geria, the best wine-growing area on the island of Lanzarote, Bodegas Rubicón is a family-owned winery founded in 1979, although its origins date back to the 17th century.

The winery currently has 30 hectares of century-old pre-phylloxera vineyards characterized by their unique location—within a protected natural park and facing the Timanfaya National Park—and a cultivation method unique in the world. Each vine at Bodegas Rubicón is planted in a conical pit of volcanic ash soil, protected from the area's strong winds by small stone walls. This unique arrangement and the terrain's topography mean that all vineyard work must be carried out manually.

The López-Grimón family specializes in volcanic malvasía, an exceptional variety, one of the oldest among white grape types, with intense flavor, aroma, and great balance. Alongside it, they also cultivate listán blanco, diego, moscatel, listán negro, and negramoll. From the facilities of their renovated winery come wines of recognized quality, already present in numerous countries in Europe, America, and Asia, and distinguished with prestigious international awards.
