Bodegas Rippa Dorii

Bodegas Rippa Dorii

Ontañón is a historic name in Spanish wine. Founded in the 1980s by the Pérez Cuevas family, it represents the passion of small artisan winegrowers. Now led by the fifth generation of the family, it is a rejuvenated winery in excellent form, with a strong presence in the national market. This family is also behind Bodegas Queirón in Rioja Oriental, a winery focused on carefully crafted small productions. In addition, it has expanded into other appellations such as Ribera del Duero, where it runs the ambitious Rippa Dorii project, formerly known as Altos de Ontañón.

Rippa Dorii —which means Ribera del Duero in Latin— is based in Fuentecén (Burgos). It works with more than 300 hectares of vineyards, some of them located in the province of Soria, and its wines are characterised by the balance between fruit and oak.
