Despite its youth, Bodegas Raíz de Guzmán (formerly known as Páramo de Guzmán) has taken winemaking in Ribera del Duero to the next level. It is located in the Burgos town of Roa. In 1998, its new owners decided to focus on producing a high-quality product in small productions. To achieve this, they relied on the advice of the brilliant enólogo Ignacio de Miguel, who guided the steps of Ignacio Figueroa, responsible for the technical direction of the winery. The provision of modern facilities aimed at achieving maximum functionality has been crucial.
Bodegas Raíz uses 25 hectares of its own vineyards to craft wines that balance tradition and innovation. The careful selection of grapes in the field and during harvest is one of its hallmarks.
