The Meruelo family founded Bodegas Heredad de Baroja in 1964, in the town of Elvillar de Álava, one of the highest points in Rioja Alavesa. Their vineyards are located at 600 meters above sea level on soils that combine clay and limestone, where the grapes achieve a magnificent balance between ripeness and acidity thanks to the extreme day-night temperature fluctuations during the ripening period.
In the winery, stainless steel tanks with capacities ranging from 12,000 to 30,000 kilos and meticulous control at every stage… all aimed at achieving high quality and reflecting the character of these unique vineyards.
