Bodegas Fillaboa

Bodegas Fillaboa is located on one of the largest and oldest estates in Galicia, with centuries of history, the Finca Fillaboa, situated in Salvaterra do Miño, on the natural border with Portugal, next to the Tea and Miño rivers. It is also the only Galician estate that, due to its special characteristics, belongs to Grandes Pagos de España. The property houses the winery facilities, 54 hectares of vineyards, and a stately manor, all surrounded by 1,600 meters of stone wall.

The vineyards, of the albariño variety, grow on gentle slopes and are divided into 12 different plots. The rich soils and the Atlantic climate, with mild temperatures due to the proximity to the sea, make this estate a privileged place for cultivating albariño, the queen grape of the D.O. Rías Baixas.

Since the year 2000, Bodegas Fillaboa has been owned by the Masaveu family (Masaveu Bodegas). In January 2021, its wine La Fillaboa 1898 from the 2010 vintage received the award for "Best Wine of Spain 2020" in the category of unoaked white wines, granted by La Asociación Española de Periodistas y Escritores del Vino.
