Bodegas Fernando de Castilla takes its name in honor of King Fernando de Castilla, known as ‘El Santo’, who, during the 13th century, dedicated himself to reconquering the areas of Andalusia occupied by the Muslim people. A king who also discovered the excellent characteristics of the soil and climate for producing quality wines.
The origin of the winery begins with the Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who, for more than two centuries, have held a long winemaking tradition, cultivating grapes and producing wines in what would become the Jerez region. However, it was not until 1972 that Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde founded Bodegas Fernando de Castilla with the aim of producing the most select Sherry wines and brandies in Spain.
Located in the heart of the historic center of Jerez, the winery holds true oenological treasures. The brandies of the winery are made with distilled white wines carefully selected, and they stand out for their smoothness and harmony.
As for the wines, the Cadiz-based winery offers the most distinguished ones from the region. From the palest, driest, and most elegant finos to the most special oloroso wines, many of them have earned national and international awards and distinctions.
The winery also produces very old Sherry vinegars, with a very limited production and exceptional quality.
Rey Fernando de Castilla is a winery that combines tradition and modernity, adapting to the new times without losing an ounce of its essence. A brand guided by one premise: to offer the most select products from Jerez, presented in the most distinguished, elegant, and contemporary way, in line with the tastes of today’s consumer.
