Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo is one of the oldest wineries in Rueda. A family-owned business, now led by the sixth generation. Félix was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Denominación de Origen Rueda in 1980, when there were only a handful of wineries in the region. It is also a pioneering winery in championing verdejo as a grape variety to produce high-quality white wines.
Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo owns 35 hectares of its own vineyards and controls 205 hectares of verdejo, sauvignon blanc, and viura varieties. Additionally, it has the privilege of owning 9 hectares of pre-phylloxera vineyards that are over 140 years old. These vineyards are planted on sandy soils that prevented the spread of phylloxera. They are among the oldest vineyards in all of Europe.
