Behind Bodegas Castillejo de Robledo is the Riojan Grupo Bodegas Olarra. After years of searching for the best location in the Ribera del Duero, they found the desired estate in the highlands of Castillejo de Robledo, a small village with a great winemaking tradition, located in the westernmost part of the province of Soria. The estate, spanning 138 hectares, is divided into 250 plots and cultivated exclusively with tempranillo. Its altitude, between 980 and 1010 meters at the limit for vine cultivation, results in lower yields but higher quality. The soils, either clay-loam or very clayey with limestone, are the most suitable; and the significant thermal amplitude helps achieve grapes with greater freshness and delicacy.
