Bodega Sommos is one of the most impressive and technological wineries on the national scene. Sommos made its debut in 2015, taking over from the now-defunct Irius winery. Located in Barbastro, the heart of the D.O. Somontano, Bodega Sommos boasts ultramodern facilities dedicated to producing high-quality wines.
One of its distinctive traits is its commitment to R&D&I, employing innovative procedures such as the vertical pneumatic press, the Cartesian robot porta ovis, and the robot explorer for barrel movement. Another of its key assets is its vineyard: 355 hectares of vines near Barbastro, hosting a wide variety of red and white grape varieties. At altitudes ranging from 400 to 600 meters, the different vineyards are cultivated, planted after a prior soil analysis to ensure each variety adapts as best as possible to the terroir. Additionally, Bodega Sommos has developed an extensive wine tourism program.
