Founded in 1789, Bodegas Miguel Sánchez Ayala is one of the oldest wineries in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Its facilities, located in the Barrio Bajo of this town in Cádiz, a landmark area for Andalusian fortified wines, stand out for preserving the San Pedro winery. This Neo-Mudéjar style building, part of the monumental complex of the Casa del Marqués de Arizón, was originally constructed to house wines destined for export beyond our borders.
Bodegas Miguel Sánchez Ayala has 3,300 barrels of wines made from palomino fino grapes harvested from the 90 hectares of La Soledad and Las Cañas, its vineyards located in the Balbaina pago, one of the most renowned in the D.O. Jerez Xérès Sherry y Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda. From its finest musts are born its well-known manzanilla, Gabriela, the amontillado Pipiola, and the magnificent oloroso Galeón.
