In the 1990s, Julio Viola was the first to envision that the Patagonian desert held a hidden great winemaking potential and began working in the fields of San Patricio del Chañar to lay the foundations for a quality vineyard. In 2002, under his leadership, the first Patagonian wine was crafted, and today, the winery is the leading producer and most recognized in this boundary region for vine cultivation.
