With the aim of selecting the most interesting wines from some of the best appellations of origin in Spain, Balandro Vinos was founded in 2015. The company, based in Seville, is owned by César Velázquez and benefits from the expertise of sommelier Raúl Villabrille, winner of the Nariz de Oro competition in 2006.
Balandro Vinos focuses on limited productions, which allows for greater and stricter quality control and a more thorough selection based on the terroir. Las Botas is their project within the historic framework of Jerez. Over two years, Velázquez and Villabrille explored small wineries in the province of Cádiz to select the finest barrels. As a result, the Manzanilla Apartada and Amontillado Perpendicular come from Bodegas Herederos de Argüeso in Sanlúcar de Barrameda; the Fino Cruzado from Bodegas Yuste, and the Palo Cortado Horizontal from the old soleras of Bodegas Urium.
The exceptional and select quality of the unique wines of Las Botas, with all the singularity of western Andalusia, has made them essential, in record time, for a great number of fine dining restaurants. Balandro Vinos is also present in Rueda and Ribera del Duero.
