When in 2009 the actor Antonio Banderas joined the shareholders of this winery in the Ribera del Duero, he did so knowing the enormous potential the company had developed since its foundation ten years earlier by the Ortega family. Although there was a name change – Anta Natura became Anta Banderas – and the actor's charisma helped conquer new markets, the original essence was preserved thanks, in large part, to the excellent work of the young Catalan winemaker Xavier Martínez, the creator of all the winery's wines.
Anta Banderas is located in Villalba de Duero, very close to Aranda. The facilities, designed by the prestigious architect Federico Ortega – founder of the winery – are built with glass and wood and stand out for their perfect functionality in wine production. Currently, they have 230 hectares of vineyards and an impressive barrel park with more than 1,200 units, sufficient to age all the wines they produce except, of course, their rosé, which, by the way, is among the best in this country.
