Alves de Sousa

Recognized as the "Best Winery of the Year" in 1999 and 2006 by the prestigious publication Revista de Vinhos, Alves de Sousa is a family-owned winery where the third generation of the family, represented by Domingo Alves, continues to lead the firm. Since the early 1990s, the winery began producing its first still wines following a profound overhaul of the estate's viticulture.

The winery is located in the "heart" of the Douro Valley, on the right bank of the river, and its vineyard holds the highest classification in the Douro: "Letra A".
