Alta Pavina

Alta Pavina

Since the mid-1980s, various foreign grape varieties have been introduced in Spain to enrich our varietal diversity. Pinot Noir, native to Burgundy (France), where it is the soul of some of the most famous and expensive wines in the world, also had its turn. Undoubtedly, it is one of the finest and most elegant international varieties, but also a capricious and very delicate grape that does not easily adapt to any region. A friend of cold climates, it demands rigorous care in cultivation and expertise in winemaking. The winery Alta Pavina has specialized in the viticulture of this noble variety thanks to the expertise of its winemaker Patricia Díez, trained in France. Díez has achieved a perfect adaptation of Pinot Noir to the terrain of the Pago de la Pavina estate, located on a plateau in the municipality of La Parrilla (Valladolid), at an altitude of 900 meters, where this vine benefits from the cool climate it so appreciates. With numerous national and international recognitions for its wines, Alta Pavina has established itself as one of the most outstanding examples of great wineries created outside the designations of origin.
