It is one of the nine Vinos de Pago designations that exist in Spain, three of which are in Navarra (the other six are in Castilla-La Mancha). The Vinos de Pago distinction recognizes that each estate complies with the requirements outlined in the decree of the autonomous community that has endorsed it. The associated wineries and their crops achieve the category of DO of Recognized Quality Wines Produced in a Specific Vineyard Estate . The requirements set by the public administration to grant this designation are based on the control of the estate's viticultural and oenological practices, the recognition of the brand, and its prominence in both national and international markets. It was recently founded, in 2009.
