Climate
Temperate Mediterranean climate (influenced by eastern winds and altitude, which configures the climate as Mediterranean despite being an inland area of the Peninsula), with an average annual temperature close to 18 ºC and rainfall around 500 mm per year.
Soil
Red soils with silty-clay sediments, scarce stones, and rich in potassium in the southern part of the region. In the northern area, the soils are brown-limestone over marls, sandstones, and conglomerates, with scarce minerals (nitrogen, magnesium, and phosphate). Overall, they are low in organic matter and have good permeability and aeration.
