La Guardia

It is one of the nine Vinos de Pago denominations that exist in Spain, six of which are located in Castilla-La Mancha (the other three are in Navarra). The Vinos de Pago distinction recognizes that each estate meets the requirements outlined in the decree of the autonomous community that has endorsed it. The associated wineries and their vineyards achieve the category of DO of Recognized Quality Wines Produced in a Specific Wine Estate . The requirements set by the public administration to grant this distinction are based on the control of the estate's viticultural and oenological practices, the recognition of the brand, and its prominence in both national and international markets. It was founded in the year 2000 by Fausto González. The house winemaker is Ignacio de Miguel.
