Granada

The D.O. Granada was established in 2018, and it is dominated by red wines, especially those made with tempranillo, garnacha, petit verdot, and merlot. It is notable for having one of the highest vineyards in Europe, as the vines are grown at an average altitude of 1200 m.

It features a climate influenced by both the Mediterranean and continental conditions, with many hours of sunlight and sharp day-night temperature variations. The soils are rich in slate and clay compounds.

The main grape varieties cultivated are tempranillo, garnacha, petit verdot, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, monastrell, moscatel, pinot noir, romé, sauvignon blanc, syrah, and vijiriega.
